I have created different options this year that I hope will give more variety to those of you that have tried it before and for those of you that are new to pyrography.
The Pyrography Taster 1 hour basic introduction and a 10-15 minute demo to the art of Pyrography with pyrographer and artist Ruth Wheeler.
You will learn the basics about starting this craft from which machines to buy, which wood to use as well as different options of transferring a design onto your work.
You will get to watch a demo by Ruth and then you will get your own machine to use with a fine wire tip. You will choose from a variety of small blank pieces of wood in shapes such as book marks,keyring, pendants, log slices or a coaster or earrings
If you want a short taster then please book one hour but if you would like to get more time to complete a more complex piece or learn how to add different mixed medias to pyrography such as gilding / gold leaf or acrylics, watercolours or inks etc or you would like more time to complete a larger blank then book more hours.
The Pyrography taster and mixed media session is 2 hours 30 mins and this gives you more time to complete a pyrography burnt design and embellishments with mixed media or to work in shading or more complex pieces.
if you have already done the taster session or you have been practising at home then don't worry, you could bring previous work that you would like to get straight into painting or mixed media work and you don't have to go through the begginers taster session. Or just dive straight into burning a new piece.
My regular intro class is normally 5- 6 hours so if you are wanting to then buy a whole day's workshop with me.
You can always book sessions on different times or days too and bring your work back with you.
The sessions will run approx 1 hour 15 minutes or 2 hours 30 mins leaving me time for a loo and coffee break !!
I do have larger pieces of wood as well as spoons, watercolour paper and frames to make at a little extra cost, which you can choose. You can pre book them when you book your workshop as extras. Included in your 1 hour workshop are up to 2 small wooden shapes - coasters and shapes:- hearts squares,wood rings. Or 1 medium circle. In your 2 hour workshop you can work on 2 - 4 smaller shapes or one small and one larger birch ply round. Or upgrade and buy a larger plank or birch ply panel.
